About & contact
A chess app, built by one person.
No company behind it, no investors, no signup. ChessAnalyzer is an independent project — one person, a real engine, and a stubborn belief that a good game review should be free.
Why it exists
Most game reviews hand you a number and a colour and leave the reasoning out. This one works the other way round. The real Stockfish 19 engine runs in your browser, so every evaluation on screen is a search it actually ran at the depth it shows, and the coach explains the idea behind the move in plain language. Nothing is mocked up, and nothing waits behind an account.
The practice side follows the same rule. 3090 positions, most of them from the free Lichess puzzle database, each checked against the rules of chess before it ships — so a wrong answer means your move was wrong, not that the puzzle was.
What it is, plainly
- Free, with no account
- Every review, puzzle and sprint. No subscription, no daily limit, no upsell.
- A real engine, not a black box
- Scores can differ from Chess.com or Lichess because the engine settings and the grading are this app's own. Where the providers publish their own numbers, they are labelled as theirs.
- Independent
- Not affiliated with Chess.com or Lichess. Game data comes from their public APIs; the analysis is all local.
- Your games stay yours
- Imported PGNs, saved players and preferences live in your browser. The hosted site counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics and no tracking cookies.

A bug, an opening name that should be different, an evaluation you disagree with — I would rather hear it than not. Email is the quickest way to reach me.
